Syscoin paused its blockchain bridge after a security flaw allowed an attacker to create about 5 billion unauthorized SYS tokens through its UTXO bridge path. The team traced most of the tainted tokens to two addresses holding roughly 4 billion and 1 billion SYS. Exchanges and partners have been asked to freeze or blacklist these tokens to prevent further spread. The bridge remains offline as Syscoin investigates and works on a fix, highlighting ongoing risks in cross-chain bridge security.
