This feature, activated on May 20, 2026, uses a new system called Address Balances to absorb transfer costs directly within the network infrastructure. Within five days, Sui processed nearly $65 billion in stablecoin transfers, highlighting strong adoption. However, concerns remain about the long-term sustainability of this model, as gas fees traditionally help prevent spam and support validators' revenue.
