Crypto derivatives open interest hits $41.6B as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana prices recover.

Open interest in crypto derivatives has risen to $41.6 billion, driven by Bitcoin at $23.4 billion, Ethereum at $15.5 billion, and Solana at $2.7 billion amid a price recovery. This increase signals growing trader participation and higher leverage use, especially notable in Ethereum's steady rise since August. However, Santiment warns that rising open interest can lead to risky cascading liquidations if prices reverse, making it crucial for traders to monitor funding rates and liquidation volumes closely.

While Santiment highlights a $23.4 billion open interest in Bitcoin derivatives, on Pluang Bitcoin trades at Rp1.519.838.736 with a 1-day gain of 2.07% as of Oct 22, 2026 03:02 WIB. Ethereum, with $15.5 billion open interest, is priced at Rp44.828.916 on Pluang, up 2.04% in one day, showing a stronger buy sentiment (68%) compared to Bitcoin's nearly balanced buy/sell activity. Solana, despite a smaller $2.7 billion open interest, shows a higher sell activity (73%) on Pluang and trades at Rp1.946.541, up 1.79% for the day, reflecting differing trader behaviors across these assets.
