Ripple removed from BIS cross-border payments task force after two years of membership

Ripple and its payment operations director Rene Huijsen are no longer listed as members of the Bank for International Settlements' (BIS) Cross-border Payments Interoperability and Extension (PIE) task force as of July 2024. The BIS has not disclosed when or why Ripple was removed. The PIE task force, established in 2023, advises on improving cross-border payment systems and supports the G20 roadmap for faster, more accessible international payments. This change does not imply BIS endorsement or rejection of Ripple's products, and a recent BIS paper separately explored using Ripple's XRP Ledger for verifying official statistics without linking to Ripple's task force status.

XRP is trading at Rp26.738 with a slight 1-day increase of 0.03% as of Sep 30, 2026, 12:02 WIB on Pluang. Despite Ripple's removal from the BIS Cross-border Payments task force, XRP maintains a strong market presence with a market cap of Rp1.683,14 trillion and a 24-hour trading volume of Rp78,68 trillion. The asset shows robust investor interest, with 74% of Pluang orders being buys and a typical hold time of 71 days.
