CIDEB siRNA cuts liver fat up to 80% and improves liver health in MASLD patients, with effects lasting 36 weeks

Regeneron's CIDEB siRNA, a new liver-targeted therapy, showed in a first-in-human trial a rapid and sustained reduction of liver fat by up to 80% in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). The treatment also improved liver injury markers and maintained effects through 36 weeks after a single dose, suggesting potential for twice-yearly administration. These results, presented at AASLD and published in The New England Journal of Medicine, highlight CIDEB siRNA as a promising option for treating MASLD and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), conditions that can lead to serious liver damage.
