Flare CEO claims Ripple underestimates XRP lending potential, showcasing $7.2M borrowed via Flare's platform.

Flare CEO Hugo Philion argues that Ripple CTO David Schwartz underestimates the lending potential on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). While Ripple's native lending protocol XLS-66 remains stalled, Flare has developed a workaround using Protocol Managed Wallets and its Confidential Compute stack, enabling lending directly from native wallets without cross-chain risks. Flare's platform has already facilitated $7.2 million borrowed in RLUSD stablecoin using 10.8 million wrapped XRP as collateral, demonstrating strong demand. Flare plans to continue building lending solutions on its side to bring smart contract capabilities to XRPL users without waiting for Ripple's upgrades.

Following the discussion on XRP lending potential, XRP trades at Rp25.662 on Pluang, down 4.48% as of Oct 07, 2026 23:32 WIB, with a market cap of Rp1.613,94 trillion. Meanwhile, Flare's token FLR is priced at Rp126, down 2.60%, showing strong buy interest with 100% buy order activity and a typical hold time of 36 days, reflecting active engagement from Pluang users.
