The Polkadot Community Foundation warned that certain versions of the Fearless Wallet browser extension (3.0.1, 3.0.3, 3.0.4, 3.0.5) contained malicious code from February 2025 that could send private keys to attackers. This vulnerability affected Chrome and Firefox extensions, potentially exposing users' funds. Eight users reported unauthorized transactions totaling 17,286 DOT. Users are urged to create new wallets and transfer assets, as changing passwords or reinstalling the extension won't secure exposed keys. Funds locked in staking or governance might be recoverable using the PAPI Rescue tool. Fearless Wallet is independently maintained and not the official Polkadot wallet.
