Malicious code in Fearless wallet browser extensions risks users' private keys and funds.

The Polkadot Foundation has alerted users of the Fearless wallet that four versions of its browser extension (3.0.1, 3.0.3, 3.0.4, and 3.0.5) contain malicious code that can steal private keys when the wallet is unlocked. This vulnerability was active intermittently from February 2025 to October 10, 2026, and has led to unauthorized transactions involving 17,286 Polkadot (DOT) tokens reported by eight users. The foundation advises affected users to consider all accounts compromised, generate new keys with a different wallet, and transfer their assets immediately. Simply changing passwords or reinstalling the extension does not resolve the issue. Mobile apps were not affected, but keys imported from the compromised extensions into mobile wallets should also be treated as unsafe.

The Polkadot Foundation's alert on malicious code in Fearless wallet extensions provides context for readers. For those following the broader cryptocurrency market, here is Pluang's snapshot as of Oct 22, 2026 08:21 WIB: out of 50 major cryptocurrencies, 40 rose and 9 fell today.
