Aptos cuts token issuance and raises fees, slowing supply growth to 1.5% annually.

Aptos (APT) has reduced its token issuance rate from about 5% to an estimated 1.5% annually by lowering staking rewards from 5.19% to 2.6% and increasing gas fees tenfold, which boosts token burns. These changes also introduced a 2.1 billion APT supply cap and locked 210 million tokens permanently. Currently, fee burns offset about 10% of new tokens issued, but supply still grows as issuance outpaces burns. Token unlocks from vesting will end in October 2026, reducing new token releases, but this won't stop net supply growth unless burns exceed issuance. The balance between issuance and burns will determine future supply trends.

Aptos (APT) shows strong market activity with a 7.88% price increase and a market cap of Rp13.15 trillion on Pluang. Despite the token supply changes, 73% of order activity is selling, and the typical hold time is 36 days. These figures are current as of Oct 21, 2026 07:41 WIB.
