DeFi platform Troves loses 8.6 BTC in exploit, pauses three vaults for security review

Troves, a decentralized finance platform on Starknet, suffered a loss of about 8.6 Bitcoin due to an exploit in its xWBTC/WBTC vault on October 31. The breach was linked to an outdated rebalancing contract that still had access after being replaced. Troves quickly revoked the old contract's permissions and paused three vaults as a precaution while investigating further. The platform is working with security experts to trace the stolen funds and plans to update users with a detailed report and recovery options soon.
