A new PensionBee survey reveals that only 12% of U.S. retirement savers have enough funds to last over ten years, while 13% can't cover even one month. Women face a significant retirement savings gap, retiring with 30-40% less than men due to pay disparities and caregiving roles, leading to lower confidence and financial security. Although 41% feel confident about retirement, two-thirds lack a structured plan, which greatly boosts confidence when present. Gen X savers are particularly unprepared for a 30-year retirement, with many at risk of running out of funds within five years. The findings highlight the urgent need for better retirement planning and tools to improve financial security.
