Over 87% of funds into FreedomXMR linked to cybercrime, with $20M traced to ransomware and exploits.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT found that more than 87% of funds flowing into FreedomXMR, a crypto exchange on Hyperliquid Core, are tied to illicit activities including ransomware, malware, and social engineering attacks. Over $20 million was traced to incidents involving platforms like DCENT Wallet, Fetch.ai, Axelar, and Gamdom. The investigation also revealed connections to KuCoin for Monero liquidity and identified thousands of deposits linked to laundering. FreedomXMR's permissionless listing on Hyperliquid raises concerns about the platform's role in enabling centralized laundering services without oversight.

While the investigation highlights illicit fund inflows into FreedomXMR linked to KuCoin for Monero liquidity, KuCoin Token (KCS) on Pluang trades at Rp130.239 as of Oct 20, 2026 20:03 WIB, down 2.57% in one day. The token's circulating supply is at 70% of its maximum, with a market cap of Rp18,26 trillion and a 24-hour volume of Rp223,84 million. Notably, all Pluang order activity for KCS is sell orders, with a typical hold time of 35 days, contrasting with the concerns raised about laundering on Hyperliquid Core.
