Bitcoin funding rate turns negative as open interest drops across major cryptos

Bitcoin's perpetual futures funding rate turned negative at -0.0009% every eight hours, signaling a shift in trader sentiment as open interest declined by 1.72% to $7.67 billion. Despite this, long positions still outnumber shorts at 56.1%. Other major cryptocurrencies like Ether, Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin also saw decreases in open interest, with Ether showing the highest long-account share at 73.5%. These changes reflect cautious trading behavior amid market fluctuations, impacting funding payments between long and short traders.

As of Oct 14, 2026 13:51 WIB, Bitcoin trades at Rp1.491.114.078 on Pluang, down 0.37% in the last day, showing a modest decline compared to Solana's sharper 1.40% drop to Rp1.920.001. XRP and Dogecoin also fell by 0.67% and 0.53% respectively, with XRP priced at Rp24.460 and Dogecoin at Rp1.511. Despite these declines, Bitcoin maintains a strong buy interest with 54% of orders on Pluang being buys, slightly higher than Dogecoin's 56% buy activity but with a longer typical hold time of 111 days versus 110 days for Dogecoin.
