Ireland's Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) recovered a third batch of 500 Bitcoin from convicted drug dealer Clifton Collins, bringing total seizures in 2026 to 1,500 BTC valued at over $92 million. Europol aided in decrypting the encrypted wallets, originally containing 6,000 BTC Collins bought cheaply in 2011-2012. Despite losing access keys discarded in a landfill, authorities have breached three of 12 wallets so far, with 4,500 BTC still inaccessible. CAB continues efforts to recover the remaining coins, which could mark one of Ireland's largest cryptocurrency forfeitures.
