NANO Nuclear Energy and engineering firm Fortil have reached a key milestone in designing the Fuel Handling & Storage System for the KRONOS MMR™ Energy System, a critical component for safe nuclear fuel management. This progress reduces technical risks and supports future deployment and commercialization of the micro modular reactor. The collaboration now moves into preliminary design phases, building on recent regulatory progress including the NRC's acceptance of the construction permit application. NANO Nuclear aims to begin initial construction in late 2027, positioning KRONOS as a leading advanced nuclear microreactor in the U.S. market.
