JEPQ holders take longer to recover from market drops despite high 11% yield.

The JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPQ) offers an attractive 11.2% yield by selling call options on Nasdaq-100 stocks, but this strategy causes slower recoveries after market drops. From the 2025 peak to the low, JEPQ lost less than the Invesco QQQ Trust but took 17 weeks to recover versus 11 weeks for QQQ. JEPQ captures most of the downside but only half to two-thirds of the upside in rebounds, leading to lower total returns despite high income payouts. This makes JEPQ suitable for retirees seeking steady income but less ideal for reinvestors who would benefit more from QQQ's faster recovery and higher total returns.

JEPQ is currently priced at USD 60.76 on Pluang, showing a 0.83% decline in the last day. As of Oct 09, 2026 00:31 WIB, the ETF has a market cap of $44.68 billion and a typical hold time of 65 days on the platform.
