Quantum computing poses a long-term risk to Bitcoin, but AI demand may boost miners' power deals, says VanEck.

VanEck's Matthew Sigel highlighted that while quantum computing is a future threat to Bitcoin, it is not a reason to sell now. He noted that AI data center growth could increase the value of miners' long-term power lease agreements, which some miners hold for 10-20 years with strong counterparties. These electricity contracts might open new business avenues, such as supporting AI infrastructure. Sigel also observed signs of Bitcoin seller fatigue and suggested investors watch for buying opportunities after price dips, comparing Bitcoin's portfolio role to gold and its potential to gain market share.

VanEck Research Chief Matthew Sigel's views on quantum risk and Bitcoin come with Pluang market data as of Oct 03, 2026 16:31 WIB: Among 50 major cryptocurrencies priced on Pluang, 11 rose and 37 fell today.
