Tech selloff after Democratic wins creates buying chance in chip and data center stocks.

Democrats' recent sweep of both the House and Senate triggered a selloff in tech stocks due to concerns over potential restrictions on data centers. However, actual policy threats remain limited due to political gridlock, making this a buying opportunity for chipmakers and data center companies. Leading chip firms like NVIDIA and AMD have already excluded China from their forecasts, reducing export control risks and supporting sector resilience. Semiconductor ETFs are deeply oversold, and valuations for hyperscalers look attractive, encouraging patient accumulation despite some risks from state-level restrictions and high valuations.

As of Nov 08, 2026 04:01 WIB, the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) trades at USD 463.96, recovering from its 52-week low of USD 325.10 but still below its 52-week high of USD 668.91, showing room for growth despite recent volatility. Nvidia (NVDA), a key chipmaker, is priced at USD 186.64, closer to its 52-week low of USD 165.17 than its high of USD 239.27, reflecting cautious optimism among investors. On Pluang, SMH sees strong buying interest at 84% buy orders, while NVDA holds a 63% buy ratio, indicating confidence in chip stocks amid political uncertainties.
