Phishing scam via Google ad steals $1.6M from Trezor users; BTCPay Server issues urgent security patch.

A phishing scam promoted through a Google-sponsored ad led Bitcoin users to a fake Trezor site, resulting in the theft of about 24 BTC (roughly $1.6 million) from one victim. The scam involved a counterfeit page that tricked users into entering their recovery seed, giving attackers full wallet access. Separately, BTCPay Server, a platform for Bitcoin payments, released an emergency update to fix a critical vulnerability actively exploited by attackers. Both incidents highlight risks outside the Bitcoin protocol itself, emphasizing the importance of vigilance in software use and security practices.
