HII has named Chris Helton as the new vice president of infrastructure and sustainability at its Newport News Shipbuilding division. Helton will oversee modernization of infrastructure, environmental health and safety, and security at the shipyard. With 35 years of shipbuilding experience, including key roles at HII's Ingalls Shipbuilding, Helton is expected to drive responsible investments and improvements. He will start his role on August 31, reporting to the vice president of quality and operations at Newport News Shipbuilding.
