Hanwha Investment & Securities has developed a tokenized securities platform supporting Avalanche and Hyperledger Besu blockchains in preparation for South Korea's new regulations starting February 2027. These regulations will legally recognize blockchain-based securities within the country's capital markets, initially allowing tokenization of certain funds, bonds, unlisted stocks, and fractional securities. Hanwha's platform, developed with FairSquare Lab, is designed to operate across multiple blockchain networks, reflecting demand from financial firms. The Financial Services Commission plans a phased rollout, eventually enabling onchain payments linked to stablecoins, while Hanwha continues expanding its blockchain investments.
