Gallant Sports and Media LLC has acquired ownership of the Galle Gallants franchise for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Season 6, scheduled from July 10 to August 5, 2026. The team appointed veteran coach Pubudu Dassanayake and is in talks with key Sri Lankan players Dasun Shanaka and Eshan Malinga to lead the squad. LPL Season 6 aims to feature a record 500-600 player pool and a projected $25-30 million local economic impact, with participation under the Innovative Production Group platform. This new ownership and coaching setup positions Galle Gallants to compete strongly in an expanded and commercially significant tournament.
