Fidelity has updated its $898 million Fidelity Ethereum Fund to include Ethereum staking, allowing the fund to stake up to 100% of its ETH under normal conditions while retaining enough for liquidity. The fund will keep 85% of staking rewards after fees, using them first to cover expenses before distributing quarterly cash payouts to shareholders. Fidelity plans to start staking soon after regulatory approval, working with node operators like Blockdaemon and Galaxy Digital. This move follows new IRS tax guidance that facilitates staking within investment trusts without affecting their tax status.
