Robinhood CEO defends tokenized stocks amid AMC CEO's criticism over shareholder rights.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev defended the company's tokenized stocks, stating that once shares are public, companies cannot control all financial products built around them. This response came after AMC CEO Adam Aron criticized Robinhood's tokenization for undermining traditional shareholder-company relationships. Tenev clarified that holders of tokenized stocks do not receive voting rights, as these tokens are debt securities backed by actual shares. Robinhood has yet to announce how it will handle voting rights attached to the underlying shares.
