Centrifuge and Janus Henderson have introduced the Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO Fund (JAAA), a blockchain-based collateralized loan obligation (CLO) fund managing $687 million across eight networks including Ethereum and Solana. CLOs pool diversified floating-rate corporate loans into tranches with varying risk and reward, distributing payments top-down via a waterfall structure. By moving CLOs onchain, Centrifuge automates processes, enables daily stablecoin subscriptions and redemptions, and offers a 4.5% annual yield. This innovation bridges traditional finance and DeFi, allowing CLO tokens to be used as collateral or in yield strategies, though it introduces new technical risks. JAAA represents a sophisticated evolution beyond tokenized Treasuries, appealing to both institutional and retail investors.
