Celestia launches Fibre, enabling rollups to upload large data blobs directly to validators.

Celestia has activated Fibre, a new high-throughput data availability lane on its mainnet that allows rollups to send large data blobs directly to validators. This parallel data layer operates alongside Celestia's existing system, supporting blobs up to 128 MiB, much larger than the previous 8 MiB limit, and is designed for heavy data loads. Validators must lock up the native token TIA to use Fibre, which also involves fees based on data size and a base fee. Fibre's launch followed a validator vote and extensive testing, offering rollups a choice between standard data handling and this high-capacity option, potentially benefiting sectors like AI and microtransactions.

Celestia's activation of Fibre is the subject, presented here with Pluang's market snapshot as of Oct 20, 2026 22:03 WIB: Among 50 major cryptocurrencies, 46 rose and 3 fell today. Notably, COTI gained 7.24% to Rp206 with a typical hold time of 121 days, VET rose 6.01% to Rp129 with a longer hold time of 148 days, and AAVE increased 5.93% to Rp2,828,032 with a hold time of 106 days. Pluang order activity shows AAVE had 100% buy orders, contrasting with COTI's more balanced 53% buy and 47% sell split.
