Celestia has introduced Fibre, a new data-publishing protocol that allows blockchain rollups to send data directly to validator-operated servers, bypassing traditional relay routes. Using erasure coding, Fibre breaks data into pieces that can be recovered from a subset, improving efficiency and reliability. In tests with 120 validators, Fibre achieved a high throughput of 3.07 terabits per second. This protocol enhances data handling for rollups on Celestia, with validators expected to run Fibre servers starting from application version 10.
