Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) will manage cross-chain communication and coordinate payment workflows between traditional banking systems and blockchain networks. This integration aims to streamline cross-border payments by reducing settlement times and fees, though individual banks will decide how much transaction volume to route through blockchain. Neither company disclosed the number of banks currently using the service or the timeline for implementation.
