BitGo launches Bitcoin Staking for institutions, earning BTC rewards while keeping BTC locked in custody.

BitGo announced a new Bitcoin Staking service for eligible institutional clients of BitGo Bank & Trust, allowing them to earn BTC rewards on the Stacks network while their principal BTC remains timelocked in qualified custody. This service requires pairing BTC with STX tokens and offers a target yield of around 3% APY, paid weekly in BTC, without transferring the underlying Bitcoin or risking slashing. The offering builds on Stacks' Genesis Bond launch and is currently limited to whitelisted institutional clients, with potential for expansion and increased participation. This product provides institutions a way to earn yield on idle Bitcoin while maintaining custody security, though it involves a six-month lockup and exposure to STX token price fluctuations.

BitGo's new Bitcoin staking service is notable as of Nov 04, 2026 05:41 WIB.
