Ankr joins sBTC signer set to boost Bitcoin security on Stacks network

Ankr has joined the sBTC signer set on the Stacks network, becoming one of 14 operators responsible for validating Bitcoin-pegged transactions. The sBTC token is pegged 1:1 to Bitcoin, and the signer set acts like a multi-signature committee to secure these assets. Ankr's inclusion enhances the security and reliability of Bitcoin-backed assets on Stacks, supporting the network's goal to expand Bitcoin's utility beyond simple transfers. This development is part of a broader plan to evolve the signer model towards a more permissionless system integrated with Stacks’ Proof of Transfer consensus, anchored to Bitcoin’s blockchain.
