Aave raises GHO borrow rates as USDC reserves run low, aiming to stabilize its stablecoin peg.

Aave's GHO Risk Council increased the core GHO borrow rate on Ethereum from 4.25% to 5% and also raised rates on the Prime market to address depletion in the USDC conversion module, a key tool for maintaining GHO's dollar peg. The higher rates discourage cheap borrowing and encourage loan repayments, which help refill the drained stablecoin reserves and support GHO's price stability. This is the third rate hike in recent months as Aave manages GHO's stability through interest rate adjustments and arbitrage mechanisms. Borrowers should expect higher costs, while holders of staked GHO (sGHO) benefit from reduced artificial supply created by borrowing loops.

As of Oct 06, 2026 03:52 WIB, AAVE trades at Rp3.275.337 on Pluang, showing a 1.85% increase in the last day. The market cap stands at Rp50,55 trillion with a 24-hour trading volume of Rp6,93 trillion. Pluang users have a slightly higher buy interest at 54%, with typical holdings lasting around 105 days, highlighting steady engagement despite the recent rate hikes on Aave's GHO borrowing.
