What order types are available for Indonesian stocks on Pluang?

There are three ways to place an Indonesian stock order on Pluang, and one of them depends on where you are trading. A Limit order with Day validity is available in both the Pluang app and on the web trading platform, while a Limit order with Session validity is available in the Pluang app only — you set the exact price you are willing to buy or sell at, and the validity decides how long the order stays alive. A Market order is available in the Pluang app and on the web trading platform: you set no price at all, only the number of lots, and the order executes at the best price available at that moment. Stop Loss and Take Profit are available in the Pluang app as an Exit Strategy, and are not offered on web trading.

The three order options side by side:

Order TypeWhereDo you set the price? Is execution guaranteed? How long it stays open
Limit — DayApp and webYes, at your price or betterNoUntil market close that day
Limit — SessionApp onlyYes, at your price or betterNoUntil the end of the session it was placed in
MarketApp and webNo — lots onlyYes, at the best available priceFilled immediately; any unmatched portion is withdrawn

Choosing between them:

  • Use a Limit order when the price you pay matters more than certainty of getting filled — you keep full control of your entry or exit price, but the order may never match.
  • Use a Market order when getting in or out quickly matters more than the exact price — it fills at whatever the market is offering, which may be better or worse than the price on screen when you clicked. It is available in both the Pluang app and on the web trading platform.
  • Choose Day or Session validity based on how long you want a Limit order to keep working — the rest of the trading day, or just the current session.

Limit remains the default. When you open the order form, Limit is already selected and the price field is filled in with the current price, so you can place a Limit order without changing anything. Market is an alternative you select deliberately, not a replacement.

One thing to check before you trade: order-type availability differs between the Pluang app and the Pluang web trading platform. The order-type selector on the trade screen always shows exactly what is available to you on the platform you are using — treat that selector, not this list, as the final word for your own account.

Related questions:

Q: Why can't I find GTC or Stop Loss / Take Profit on web trading?
Because they are app-only. Web trading offers Market orders and Limit orders with good-till-end-of-day validity, and nothing else. Session validity, GTC and Stop Loss / Take Profit exist in the Pluang app only. This is expected behaviour rather than a fault. Your account, RDN and verification are shared across both, so you can open the app and place those order types there without any additional setup.

Q: Does Pluang offer GTC (Good Till Cancelled) orders for Indonesian stocks?
Yes, but in the Pluang app only. GTC keeps an order working across trading days for up to 180 days. On the web trading platform it is not offered, so an unfilled order there always expires at the end of the trading day. GTC also exists on Pluang for US Stocks with a different 30-day cap, so always check the asset class.

Q: Can I attach Stop Loss and Take Profit to an Indonesian stock order?
Yes, in the Pluang app, where they appear as an "Exit Strategy". They attach to a Limit order with Day or Session validity, set when you place the order, and cannot be attached to a GTC or Market order. They are not offered on the web trading platform — there you exit a position by placing a Limit sell order yourself and monitoring it.

Q: Does the minimum order size change depending on the order type?
No. Every Indonesian stock order on Pluang is placed in lots, and 1 lot equals 100 shares regardless of which order type you choose or which platform you use. This is a standard IDX trading unit, not a Pluang setting, so it applies identically to Limit and Market orders. There is no fractional share purchase for Indonesian stocks.
