FAQ article

Does the RDN balance on Pluang earn interest?

It depends entirely on which bank holds your RDN. If your RDN is with Bank Jago, your idle balance earns 2% p.a., calculated daily and credited automatically with no action required. If your RDN is with BCA, the balance earns 0% p.a. — no interest at all. You choose your RDN bank once, during Indonesian Asset Verification, and the yield rate that comes with it is fixed by that choice; it isn't something you can toggle later without effectively moving your RDN. This yield is a specific benefit of Pluang's partnership with Bank Jago, not a universal RDN feature — most other brokers' RDN accounts in Indonesia pay no interest at all, regardless of bank. RDN cash at either bank remains protected by LPS deposit insurance up to Rp2,000,000,000 per customer per bank, regardless of which yield rate applies.

BCA0%No interest paid on any balance

What counts as "idle" for the Bank Jago yield:

  • Any RDN cash not currently locked in a pending buy order earns the 2% p.a. rate
  • The yield applies only to cash — it has no effect on the value of stocks you already hold, which move with the market instead
  • There is no minimum balance required to start earning the yield, and no action needed to activate it — it accrues automatically from the moment cash lands in a Bank Jago RDN

Related questions:

Q: Is there any way to earn a return on idle cash if my RDN is with BCA?
Not within the RDN itself — a BCA RDN pays 0% regardless of balance size. Your main lever is minimizing how much cash sits idle: only fund the RDN close to when you plan to trade, and consider parking spare cash in Pluang's Mutual Fund products between stock purchases instead.

Q: Can I switch my RDN from BCA to Bank Jago to start earning yield?
RDN bank is selected once during Indonesian Asset Verification and isn't a simple in-app toggle afterward. If you want to move to a Bank Jago RDN, contact Pluang Care to confirm the current process, since this isn't a standard self-serve action.

Q: Does the RDN yield get taxed?
Interest income in Indonesia is generally subject to withholding tax under prevailing regulations. Check your account statements or consult a tax advisor for the specific treatment that applies to your RDN yield.

Q: Can RDN funds be used for other Pluang products like Crypto or Mutual Funds?
No, not directly. The RDN is exclusively for Indonesian Stocks transactions on the IDX. Other Pluang products draw from a separate balance, so you'd need to withdraw from your RDN first and fund the other product separately.
