FAQ article

Can I place stock orders outside of market trading hours on Pluang?

No. Stock orders on Pluang can only be placed while the IDX (Bursa Efek Indonesia) is actively in session. Orders cannot be submitted outside exchange hours, on weekends, or on public holidays — the app simply won't accept a new order request during those windows. This is a direct consequence of how Indonesian Stocks are supported on Pluang: only Limit Orders are available, with Day validity, meaning every order lives entirely within a single trading day and there is no mechanism to queue an order for a future session. If you want to trade the moment the market reopens, you'll need to submit your order once that session has actually started. This applies uniformly to both Session I and Session II, and to the short pre-opening and post-closing windows the exchange uses to set opening and closing reference prices — none of which are open for retail order entry either.

Important notes:

  • Orders can only be submitted during the active sessions listed above — Session I, Session II, or the brief pre-opening/post-closing windows
  • The Pluang app will not accept a stock order request outside these windows, including at night, on weekends, or on national holidays
  • All times are in WIB (Western Indonesia Time / UTC+7); the schedule shifts slightly on Fridays

Related questions:

Q: Can I place orders on weekends or public holidays?
No. The IDX is fully closed on weekends and public holidays, so there is no trading session for a stock order to enter — the Pluang app will not accept a new order request on those days at all.

Q: Does Pluang support pre-market or pre-opening orders?
No. Pluang does not support pre-market or pre-opening order submission. You can only place an order once the relevant trading session has actually begun; the short pre-opening window is used by the exchange to establish the opening price, not for retail order entry.

Q: At what price will my limit order be executed?
A limit order only executes if the market price reaches your specified limit price while the market is open. If the price never reaches your limit during that trading day, the order simply expires unfilled at the end of the day.

Q: What happens to an unfilled order at the end of the trading day?
Because Pluang uses Day-validity orders exclusively, any unfilled order expires automatically at market close and any funds held for it return to your RDN. You'll need to place a fresh order the next trading day if you still want to trade.
