The ultimate parent entity of the Company is PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MCG). Meanwhile, MCG is jointly controlled by PT Provident Capital Indonesia and PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk, which are respectively controlled by Winato Kartono and Edwin Soeryadjaya.

Established as PT Panca Brothers Textile, the company started by manufacturing ready-made knitted garments for domestic market. The company changed its name to PT Panbrothers Tex at the end of 1989.
