Social media platform X has filed a lawsuit in UK courts against two named individuals and other unidentified account controllers for allegedly defrauding its creator payment system of at least £207,384. The accused operated a network of cryptocurrency-themed accounts that duplicated content and artificially boosted engagement to increase revenue. X suspended the accounts in August, ended its Creator Revenue Sharing program, and replaced it with a new Original Content Rewards system that penalizes fraudulent engagement. The case is ongoing with no court rulings yet.
