On July 26, unauthorized access to WEMIX$ stablecoin's smart contract allowed attackers to mint 5.23 million tokens and steal about $724,000 worth of assets, which were moved across Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. WEMIX immediately suspended all bridge services, liquidity pools, and trading platforms linked to WEMIX$, and multiple exchanges froze related addresses. This is WEMIX's second major hack since February 2025, raising concerns about its security as it transitions from WEMIX$ to USDC.e. The investigation is ongoing, with the company auditing contract permissions and assessing the full impact.
