Trainline launches £100M buyback after stable H1 ticket sales and maintains full-year guidance.

Trainline has announced a new £100 million share buyback program following stable ticket sales of £3.26 billion in the first half of the year, nearly unchanged from last year. Despite a slight 1% drop in underlying revenue to £233 million, the company maintained its full-year guidance for net ticket sales between £6.2 billion and £6.45 billion and underlying revenue of £440 million to £455 million. The buyback will start after completing the current £150 million program and is expected to last 12 months. Trainline has repurchased £350 million of shares since September 2023, about 28% of its issued share capital, while continuing to engage with the Competition and Markets Authority over UK booking fee investigations.
