Starknet enables post-quantum signature upgrades without changing user accounts or balances.

Starknet's network design allows users to upgrade to post-quantum cryptographic signatures without altering their account addresses, balances, or transaction histories. This is achieved through an account model that lets users replace signature verification logic without protocol changes. Starknet continues to rely on Ethereum and elliptic-curve cryptography for settlement and cross-chain functions but is exploring an independent layer 1 blockchain for greater cryptographic control. Any shift to a new layer 1 would require a governance vote. The native token STRK remains unchanged with no plans for a new token issuance.

Starknet's account design innovation is the focus here, with Pluang data showing a tough day for cryptocurrencies overall. Of 50 major cryptocurrencies priced on Pluang, only 4 rose while 45 fell as of Oct 30, 2026 23:02 WIB. Notable movers include SXP down 46.27% to Rp37 with a typical hold time of 94 days, CRV down 13.79% to Rp5,202 with 99% buy order activity and a 62-day hold, and YFI down 11.30% to Rp33,564,646 with 100% buy order activity and a 94-day hold.
