SIDBI and Shell Foundation have partnered to launch the Empower Nanopreneurs for Green Transition Risk Sharing Facility (EN-Trans RSF), a $3.1 million initiative to improve access to green finance for nano-entrepreneurs in India. This project supports low-income communities by facilitating loans for clean energy technologies like solar dryers and cookstoves, aiming to benefit up to 443,000 people over six years. The fund reduces credit risk for lenders by providing second-loss coverage, encouraging more financial institutions to support green loans aligned with India's Net Zero 2070 goal. This initiative also includes technical assistance to ensure effective implementation and measurable impact.
