SAP announced its plan to acquire Dremio, a high-performance data lakehouse platform designed to improve data integration and accelerate AI workloads. This acquisition aims to enhance SAP Business Data Cloud by enabling seamless combination of SAP and non-SAP data, addressing common enterprise AI challenges like fragmented and inaccessible data. The deal, pending regulatory approval, will integrate Dremio's technology to create an open, scalable platform that supports real-time analytics and AI at enterprise scale, expected to close in Q3 2026.
