Stacks ratifies Bitcoin-staking plan with PoX-5 launching in 2026, leaving future upgrades open.

Stacks has approved its Bitcoin-staking plan, activating PoX-5 on July 30, 2026, at Bitcoin block 960,230. This system combines a Bitcoin timelock with an STX lock to generate BTC-denominated yield while allowing users to keep control of their Bitcoin keys. Initial parameters such as capacity and yield rates will be set by the Stacks Endowment during the bootstrap phase, with potential adjustments before launch. The plan also outlines a possible future upgrade, PoX-6, which could shift yield and capacity settings to be protocol-calculated, but no final design for this upgrade has been approved yet. Institutional support from Anchorage Digital is also planned.

STX (Stacks) is trading at Rp6.993 with a strong 7.87% gain on Pluang as of Oct 04, 2026 00:02 WIB, showing robust investor interest with 98% buy orders and a typical hold time of 46 days. This enthusiasm comes as Stacks prepares to activate PoX-5 and considers the future PoX-6 upgrade for Bitcoin staking. Meanwhile, Bitcoin itself is priced at Rp1.517.276.258, down slightly by 0.38%, with a longer typical hold time of 110 days on Pluang.
