XRP Ledger plans Nov 4 fix to stop token burn permission flaw that could mint new tokens.

XRP Ledger is set to activate a fix on November 4 addressing a flaw in the PaymentBurn permission that could allow authorized accounts to create new tokens instead of just burning them. The issue affects issued tokens like stablecoins but not XRP's native supply. Validator support is strong at 33 of 35, with activation conditional on maintaining over 80% backing. Issuers are advised to avoid delegating PaymentBurn permission until the fix is live to prevent potential misuse. The amendment also includes fixes for vault accounting, trading pools, and loan checks to improve network security and functionality.
