Zcash Foundation has released Zebra 7.0.0, addressing seven security vulnerabilities and supporting the upcoming NU7 mainnet upgrade scheduled for around November 5. Operators must upgrade before block 3,543,405 to stay on the consensus chain, as older versions will be disconnected. The update includes fixes for synchronization stalls, resource misuse, and node crashes, with five issues rated high severity. NU7 also reduces block time to 25 seconds without increasing daily ZEC issuance, maintaining the supply cap. An alpha release, Zebra Ándale 7.1.0-alpha.0, improves mining delays reported at Zcon7. Seeder software Zeeder v1.8.0 also supports NU7 and should be deployed before activation.
