The US Department of Defense has signed agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Reflection AI to deploy their AI technologies on classified military networks. This move aims to accelerate the US military's transformation into an AI-first fighting force, enhancing decision-making and situational awareness across warfare domains. These deals follow the Pentagon's efforts to diversify AI vendors after a legal dispute with Anthropic over usage restrictions. The AI tools will be used in highly secure environments to support over 1.3 million DoD personnel through the GenAI.mil platform, primarily for non-classified tasks like research and data analysis.
