Roku reported strong second-quarter results with earnings per share of $1.08, up from 7 cents a year ago, and revenue rising 22% to $1.35 billion. Growth was driven by a 25% increase in platform revenue, fueled equally by advertising and subscription gains, helped by a major home screen redesign improving user retention. The company is set to be acquired by Fox Corp. in a $22 billion deal expected to close in early 2027, which Roku sees as a chance to accelerate growth and innovation. Roku did not hold an earnings call due to the pending acquisition.
