Mondelez International has opened a $22 million chocolate crumb production facility in Shah Alam, Malaysia, reducing supply-chain lead time by at least two months for a key Cadbury ingredient. This local production replaces imports from Australia and South Africa, lowering costs and supporting growth in Southeast Asia's snacking market. Shah Alam serves as Mondelez's main Cadbury hub in the region, producing over 130 chocolate varieties and 100 million bars annually. The company sees further growth potential in Southeast Asia and is also exporting crumb to Pakistan amid supply disruptions.
