AstraZeneca announced positive late-stage trial results for a two-drug combination treating a resistant form of lung cancer. The combo pairs Tagrisso, an established lung cancer pill, with Orpathys, a newer drug targeting the MET protein that causes resistance. Patients on both drugs lived longer and delayed disease progression compared to standard chemotherapy. The all-oral treatment, already approved in China, may soon gain global approval, providing a new option for patients facing limited treatments.
