Ethereum clients Teku and Besu patch certificate flaw that could redirect validator rewards to attackers

Ethereum clients Teku and Besu have released security updates to fix a certificate vulnerability caused by compromised keys from Indian certificate authority eMudhra. This flaw could allow attackers to impersonate external services used by Ethereum validators and redirect block rewards to their own addresses. The issue affects certain Java environments that do not check certificate revocation by default, but default Teku mainnet setups were not impacted, and no exploitation has been reported. Operators must update their Java certificates separately to ensure full protection, while Ethereum developers continue addressing related validator infrastructure risks.
