The Bitcoin Red Team discovered the flaw, prompting BTCPay to release an emergency update (version 2.4.2) and advise users to either update immediately or shut down their servers to prevent losses. Several nodes have already been drained in what appears to be a targeted attack on advanced Bitcoin infrastructure tools. Users are also advised to refresh key authentication files and move funds from hot wallets generated by BTCPay to enhance security.
